Timber Design Awards - Judging Panel

An expert judging panel

It was a great privilege to be invited to be a part of the judging panel for this year's Australian Timber Design Awards. The were some high-quality entrants which were strongly in the running across several categories, but the discussion was harmonious, with some tough decisions to make, and a hotly-contested overall winner.

Along with director Nick Hewson there was an all-star panel covering several perspectives on timber and the built environment:
- Anthony Burke of University of Technology Sydney (and Grand Designs, Restoration Australia and others!)
- Meryl Hare of Hare + Klein
- James Fitzpatrick of fitzpatrick+partners (also kindly providing the venue and liquid refreshment!)
- Rebecca Gilling of Planet Ark

Kylan Low and David Rowlinson from Timber Development Association - NSW were our hosts and guides for the process.

We're looking forward to the awards dinner in October and seeing the responses of the winners. 🍾 🏆
